Summary
While installing from a CD-ROM, you may encounter any of the following errors:
- The CD appears to be empty - contains no files
- "setup.exe not a valid win32 application"
- Setup starts and then stops with an error before installation is completed
Cause
The most likely cause is a dirty, scratched or damaged CD.
More Information
- Inspect the bottom (unprinted) side of the CD-ROM and look for scratches, stains, fingerprints
- Clean the CD-ROM with a soft cloth. You may also wash it with soap and water, and then dry completely
- Reboot your computer
- Try the installation again. If the error persists, continue to the next step
- If you are installing WinWay Resume Deluxe 9.0, try the Alternate Installation, shown below

WinWay Resume 9.0 Alternate Installation
This procedure only applies to WinWay Resume 9.0.
- Double click on "My Computer". Right click on the CD-ROM drive and select "Explore".
- Note that the CD-ROM contains a folder called "WINRES". Double click on it.
- If you are using Windows 95, 98, or Me, double click on the file called "instmsia.exe". If you are using Windows 2000, XP or later, double click on "instmsiw.exe". This will install the Windows Installer on your system
- Double click on the file "WinWay Resume Deluxe.msi" to start the installation
